BRUGES

The day programme “Bruges” is not so much situated in the city centre, as many people are familiar with the city centre, but rather in the lesser-known area in and around the Sint Anna district. As a citizen of Bruges I regularly discover new corners and facts during my daily city walk after living there for decades.
I am also a member of the Royal & Princely Guild of Steel Arch Sint-Joris. Written sources confirm the participation of the guild brothers in the Battle of the Golden Spurs (1302). We are convinced that our guild is older, but this can only be confirmed by written sources.
That is why I introduce the story of the Knights Templar in the city of Bruges and surroundings, which was part of the history of Bruges.
During the ”Bruges” visit we can visit the Sint-Joris Gilde and their neightbours “De Hallebardiers” (the Halbordiers) the fencing club (1444)
On request we will of course visit “Het Minnewater”, “De Vesten”, “Sint-Janshospitaal”, “the Princely Beguinage Ten Wijngaerde”, the “Gruuthuze Paleis” to name but a few.
Early booking is essential for a day program including a visit to the Guild of Sint-Joris and “De Hallebardiers” (the Halbordiers). Since those places are very popular but difficult to access for the public. I am in possession of a tour guide badge for the city of Bruges.
We are happy to work out a travel plan according to your wishes and expectations.
Visiting Bruges means enjoying its rich history, its natural environment, its chocolate and a large portion of culinary pleasure with its beers such as “De Brugse Zot” and so much more.
